LMIS document validated
The Gambia Priority Employment Programme (GAMJOBS) and stakeholders validated the Labour Market Information System (LMIS) study report at Laico Atlantic Hotel & Resort, in Banjul on Wednesday.
In her opening remarks, Ada Gaye, deputy permanent secretary, Ministry of Trade,Employment & Regional Integration , said that the government of The Gambia formulated the National Employment policy and the National Employment Action Plan to address the acute unemployment and underunemployment of youths and women in the country. "The policy and the action plan," Gaye added, "is subjected to a performance review initiative by the government through the UNDP sponsored Gambia Priority Employment Programme (GAMJOBS) to identify achievements, short coming, constrains, challenges and recommend solutions."
